Nostalgia Mondays!
March 29, 2010First on the list is Dr. Dreadful’s Food Lab. It was the most wanted toy of all my friends growing up. However, I hope we can all agree that it tasted like absolute shit. None of the gummies turned out the way we wanted them. Sure, it was cool to make sugary spiders and sweet goo, but this toy just ended up being a huge mess to clean up after an anticlimactic treat tasting. Good ol’ Dr. Dreadful ended up at the bottom of our closets with half the pieces missing only to be never touched again.
A show I used to watch religiously when I was a kid. Pro Stars had three main stars: Wayne Gretzky, Bo Jackson, and Michael Jordan. None of them provided voices for their actual cartoon. Michael Jordan was their leader. He dabbled in sciences. He had the brains of Mcguyver, but the physical appearance of an athlete! Bo Jackson was the strong muscle guy. Finally, Wayne Gretzky was the always hungry comic relief…which I don’t understand. I can’t remembr Wayne Gretzky in real life having any sort of funnybone in him or a personality too. Oh well, we were kids, what did WE know.
The cereal was great though…
Lastly was this motherfucker, Alphie. Mine didn’t last long because I thought I could take him into the bath with me. He taught basic math and spelling skills and would speak and light up. Not only was he a positive influence in my life…but a great friend as well.
I miss you Alphie.
